Temecula FC Secures 4-1 Victory Over Buena Park FC in First Leg of Raul Briones Cup Quarterfinals
Temecula, CA – March 2, 2024 – Temecula FC took a major step forward in their Raul Briones Cup campaign with a 4-1 comeback victory over Buena Park FC in the first leg of the quarterfinals at Chaparral High School.
Buena Park FC came out strong, jumping to an early lead just 10 minutes into the match. However, Temecula FC responded with determination. Beto and Noah both found the back of the net to give the Quails a 2-1 lead at halftime.
The second half saw Temecula FC take full control of the game. Gio netted a second-half double, securing a dominant 4-1 victory and putting the Quails in a strong position heading into the second leg of the quarterfinals.
With this result, Temecula FC moves one step closer to advancing in the tournament, showcasing their attacking firepower, resilience, and team spirit.
"The guys controlled the majority of the game after conceding a early goal which was completely against the run of play. Buena park came out quick in the second half and had a good 20 minutes spell but we then were able to get back into our possession game and saw the game out. Buena Park are a really good side and it will be difficult in the second game but we have put ourselves in a good position”~John Oliver
A key factor in Temecula FC’s recent success has been the hard work and dedication of first-team manager John Oliver. His commitment to developing the squad and instilling a winning mentality is paying off, as the players continue to respond positively and execute his vision on the pitch. ~Brandon Jantz
Temecula FC will now shift their focus to the return leg as they continue their quest for the Raul Briones Cup.
